Roadmap to halt the spread of HIV among migrants in Amsterdam (2020–2024): Led technical analysis for several projects aimed at informing HIV prevention strategy in Amsterdam. Published in Journal of Infectious Diseases (journal front cover ), eLife (with editorial commentary ), and Statistical Methods in Medical Research.
Growing gender disparity of HIV transmission in Uganda (2023): Contributed to study estimating sources of HIV by age and gender in Rakai, Uganda between 2003-2018. Featured in the 2023 UNAIDS Global AIDS Report. Contributed visualisation for lay blog post Behind the paper: Engaging Men: A Crucial Key to Ending HIV.
Quantifying COVID-19 associated orphanhood in the United States (2021): Led statistical estimation of caregiver loss across the US in a collaboration with the public health agency United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), published in Pediatrics. Designed website to communicate findings to policymakers and media, updated periodically with new data and modelled estimates (imperialcollegelondon.github.io/orphanhood_USA). Findings informed White House briefings, were featured in major media New York Times and Washington Post, and cited by Michelle Obama (The Light We Carry), and drove local policy changes in the US. I was also interviewed by Time magazine.
Age groups that sustain resurging COVID-19 epidemics in the United States (2021): Contributed to large-scale modelling study investigating COVID-19 transmission dynamics by age in the United States. Higly featured in the media including The Guardian, The Washington Post , CNN and The Atlantic .
